Dominique Peccatte (1810-1874) was a renowned French luthier and bow maker.  He was apprenticed in Mirecourt, France and later worked with Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume.  He is notable for adapting the "hatchet-shaped" type head, a model arrived at by Tourte, and is considered one of the most influential bow makers of all time.  The D Z Strad Model 812 is a reproduction of the craftsmanship and artistry that is synonymous with the Peccatte name.  Made of dense Pernambuco, the bow features a round stick that is fully silver-lined.  Mounted with an Ebony frog and mother-of-pearl dot inlay and button, the bow is properly balanced for an even response and powerful projection.  The thumb grip is made of lizard skin leather over silver lapping.  The bow is equipped with high quality Mongolian horsehair.  A great choice for players looking to replicate the look, feel, and sound of a bow made by a master.
